The Italian island of Favignana is the main one of the Islands Egadas.Se located 7 km from the western coast of Sicily, between Trapani and Marsala, in front of the Salitre Islands.Formerly, the name of Favignana was "Aegusa" term meaning "Butterfly", due to the shape of the island. The current name derives from the "Favonio", which is a particular wind.
